Iron Horse Hobby House was established in 1979 when the Schmehl family purchased Haines Hobby House from Mel Haines. Mr. Haines had constructed a new building at 60 South Sixth Street in Reading, PA in 1947 to house his budding hobby business. And we are still operating in that location - that's over 60 years of combined service to hobbyists from the same location!
