		Install DN149K2 in Kato C44-9W (for speed stabilization and/or transponding) Thanks to Jean-Louis Simonet for the tip The DN144K decoder was made to fit the Kato C44-9W. The problem is that the DN144K does not have speed stabilization or transponding. You can install a DN149K2 in the loco as follows and have both speed stabilization and transponding. By replacing the rear LED on the DN149K2 with an LED with longer leads, the DN149K2 can be substituted for the DN144K.
